Scrim Cloth Tape

Wall cracks are a big headache for renovation workers. The joints between plasterboards often crack after a few months. In the past, people used a lot of putty to fill them. Then they waited for the putty to dry. Then they sanded it. That took a lot of time. Scrim cloth tape was made to solve this problem. It is a mesh made of glass fiber. The holes in the mesh let putty go through. You put the tape on the crack. Then you spread a layer of putty over it. The product acts like steel bars inside the wall. The crack will not come back. This tape is not for sticking things together. It is for making the wall stronger. Think of it as a hidden skeleton.

Our scrim cloth tape uses glass fiber as the backing. The mesh hole sizes are 2.85×2.85mm, 4×4mm, and 5×5mm. Smaller holes mean higher strength. The tensile strength can reach over 1000 N/50mm. That number is amazing. You cannot break it with both hands. The temperature range is -30℃ to 150℃. Thickness goes from 0.25mm to 0.6mm. Common widths are 5cm, 10cm, and 15cm. Length is 25m or 50m. When you use product, you must use white glue or putty. Do not stick it dry. Dry application does not work. The right way is to spread putty on the crack first. Then put the tape on. Then press it with a scraper. Let the putty come up through the holes. Then spread another layer on top.
