Polyester Silicone Adhesive Tape

Have you seen green high-temperature tape on circuit boards? It is often applied to gold fingers - the gold-colored contacts - to protect them from plating solutions. This green tape is polyester silicone adhesive tape, commonly referred to in the industry as "PET green tape." Its backing is PET polyester film, and the adhesive is silicone pressure-sensitive. What makes silicone special? It resists high heat, working continuously at 200℃ and up to 220℃ for short periods. In contrast, normal rubber tapes soften at around 120℃. Silicone also resists chemicals, including plating solutions, paint solvents, acids, and alkalis.

Our polyester silicone adhesive tape is widely used in high-temperature processes. It protects circuit boards during plating, masks metal parts during powder coating, and safeguards LEDs during potting. One customer, a phone case manufacturer, covers areas that should not receive paint before baking in a high-temperature oven. After baking, the tape is removed cleanly, leaving no residue. Another customer, a synthetic leather producer, uses the tape to join release paper on a hot-press line. The tape withstands high heat without coming apart.

Tape thicknesses range from 0.05 mm to 0.095 mm, with 0.06 mm being the most common. Widths can be customized from 5 mm to 1060 mm, and lengths are 33 m or 66 m. Besides the standard green, colors include transparent, blue, red, yellow, black, and white. Both glossy and matte surfaces are available, with matte preferred for LED packaging to reduce light reflection. Production time is about 10 working days, with faster turnaround for repeat orders.
