Biodegradable Packaging Tape

Starting in 2025, many countries require biodegradable materials for parcel packaging. Our Biodegradable Packaging Tape is made for this trend. Its base is not normal BOPP plastic. It is made of cellulose film or PLA. Cellulose comes from wood pulp. PLA comes from corn starch. Both materials break down in nature. Microbes turn them into water, carbon dioxide, and biomass. Our product has passed biodegradability tests. The degradation rate is over 91%. This number meets the eco-standards of the EU and the USA.

Our adhesive is also eco-friendly. It is water-based acrylic. It has no organic solvents. The whole tape can be recycled with the carton. This is very important. With normal BOPP tape on a carton, workers must remove the tape before recycling. If they do not remove it cleanly, it pollutes the paper pulp. With our Biodegradable Packaging Tape, you do not need to remove it. Send the whole carton into the paper machine. The tape breaks down in water. No residue is left. Many of our clients are export companies. Before, they had returns because the packaging was not eco-friendly. After switching to our tape, they passed customs eco-inspections easily.

How strong is this tape? To be honest, its tensile strength is lower than BOPP tape. But for normal carton sealing, it is strong enough. Our thickness ranges from 45μm to 125μm. For PLA types, use 45-55μm. For paper-based, use 125μm. Peel strength is 2-3.5 N/cm. That firmly seals a carton. The temperature range is also good. It works from -30°C to 70°C. Short exposure to high heat is fine. Minimum order is about 5,000 square meters. The price is higher than normal tape. That is because eco-friendly materials cost more. But as regulations get stricter, eco-friendly tape will become more common. Lead time is about 10 working days. Repeat orders are faster. We offer samples for you to test.
