Low Noise Packing Tape

Have you ever torn tape in a quiet office? The sound is very sharp. Normal tape makes about 70 decibels of noise. That is as loud as a vacuum cleaner. Our Low Noise Packing Tape brings this sound down to below 40 decibels. What does 40 decibels mean? It is quieter than a refrigerator hum. You can tear it in a library without bothering anyone. This feature matters in many places. For example, offices, hospitals, schools, libraries, and packing areas in e-commerce warehouses. When many workers tear tape at the same time, the noise adds up and becomes annoying. Switch to product, and the work environment improves a lot. Workers feel less tired.

How does our Low Noise Packing Tape work? Two technologies. First, a special release coating on the back. We put a special release agent on the back of the tape. The friction between the glue and the back becomes very small. So when you tear it, it feels smooth and quiet. Second, a thicker design. Most low noise products on the market are at least 60μm thick. That is thicker than normal tape at 45-50μm. With more thickness, the base becomes stiffer. The vibration during tearing goes down. So the sound goes down. Our adhesive is still water-based acrylic. Stickiness is not affected. Peel strength reaches 2.4-4.3 N/cm. That is enough to seal normal cartons.

One client is a large hospital. Their pharmacy packs many medicines to send to patients. Before, nurses complained that the tape noise was too loud. It disturbed patients.
